JP Baker School of Dance
The JP Baker School of Dance was born in September 2000. The lifelong dream of Principal Jo Riddell (Nee Baker). Jo Started dancing at the tender age of 3 with Pauline Wilkes (Fellow and Examiner of IDTA), she continues to be taught by the same teacher to this day, some 37 years later! Jo has progressed through hundreds of dance exams and onto professional teaching qualifications through the International Dance Teachers Association. With 26 years teaching experience your children are in safe hands.
Through the years there isn’t much that Jo hasn’t done in the dance world, she’s danced professionally, choreographed stage shows and fashion shows, written and directed pantomimes, choreographed competition pieces, worked extensively on match day entertainment for Rugby League, including Super League, has had work featured on BBC TV and Sky, been guest judge on many competitions, choreographed and directed hundreds of charity events, the list goes on! For the last 20 years Jo has taught PE in schools all over the district. The focus is on delivering high quality lessons where the children can learn new skills and have the opportunity to compete inter school and perform within the wider community. As part of this work Jo has also provided CPD (Coaching Professional Development) for teacher and staff within the schools.
The dance school has gone from strength to strength over the last 20 years. We boast 100% pass rate on all exams taken. We do regular shows at professional theatres, perform in local community events, compete at selected competitions and perform at large sporting events.The emphasis is on fun learning whilst gaining recognised qualifications and participating in a verity of performance opportunities. All teachers have recognised professional teaching qualifications through the IDTA, are first aid certified, have safeguarding qualifications and a full DBS check.

JK Infinity Dance and Cheer
JK Infinity Dance and Cheer is the Cheerleading team at Dance House. Specialising in British Cheerleading Association cheer and Street Cheer. Students are able to take recognised qualifications through the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) in cheerleading. We perform in shows, selected competitions and community events. We also perform at large sporting events. Cheerleading is a great team sport and at JK Infinity we are just that!
We work hard on strength, flexibility and technique to produce show stopping Pom and dance routines. If you've always wanted to become a cheerleader or fancy trying something new then this is for you! We take students from 3 years upwards. Contact us for a free trial class.
